August 6th Through 8TH Fuel Flex International, LLC and our 2007 Hummer H3 Powered by Ethanol

Spent 3 days at the St. Anthony sand dunes at St. Anthony Idaho testing our vehicle with various grades of ethanol from E85 to E98 with an octane rating of 120.

Over the 3 days we found the Hummer H3 performed exceedingly well and had about a 25% increase in performance over gasoline which when coupled with this vehicles 4 wheel drive system kept it at the top of the the dunes with an amazing pace. This vehicle  kept the natives of the area and the onlookers asking questions.

ClickAs a Converted Flex Fuel Vehicle we give this new Fuel Flex International Feet Vehicle a 5 star rating.

Project Green: The Green Powered Yellow Hummer

Story Created: Aug 24, 2007 at 4:59 PM MDT Channel 2 CBS Boise, Idaho

One Treasure Valley company is pushing environmentally friendly fuels... from a Hummer? One of the biggest sources of pollution in the Treasure Valley is vehicles.

But with a new fuel source, that could change, and many are eager to jump on board a campaign for corn power, no matter what they drive.

Dr. Katy Farrell considers herself a green individual, and not just because she's wearing an entire outfit of the color.

"We are very conscientious about making the earth a better place," said the New Plymouth resident.

That's why she runs her Saturn with the corn based fuel, Ethanol.

"We wanted to do our part in cleaning up the atmosphere," said Dr. Farrell.

Fuel Flex International was the company to help her get there.

"We're installing this box which will make this Saturn a flex fuel vehicle," said Conger as he leaned over Farrell's engine and explained what his plans were.

Fuel Flex International markets a gasoline to ethanol adapter box for just about any car. It'll cost you between $300 and $500 dollars and can be installed in minutes. Conger says it then allows the vehicle to run on either Ethanol or standard gasoline, making it what's called a flexible fuel vehicle.

"We turned 'Ethyl' into a green machine," said Conger, showing off a yellow Hummer. Sure, a Hummer may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to green cars, but it's Conger's spokes-car to make a point.

"Keep your SUV, keep the vehicle you like to drive, but let's think about running it on American-made fuel and supporting a cleaner environment," Conger said.

"We've got to stop talking about it and start doing things," said Gary Ackaret, who also installed one of the Fuel Flex International boxes in his truck.

"All of our actions collectively add up to the total picture and there's amazing power in individuals making little changes," he
said.

So far, there's only been about a dozen takers for the product in the Treasure Valley, and with only three Ethanol stations in Idaho, Conger isn't surprised. But he is hopeful.

"There has been applications put in for as many as 10 new fueling facilities for either bio-diesel or Ethanol," Conger said.

As for Dr. Farrell, she didn't mind being ahead of the curve to get in on the corn craze.

"You either do something to help the situation or you do something that makes the situation worse and this helps the situation," she said.

In Idaho, ethanol is 30 to 50 cents cheaper than regular gas, but since ethanol also gets slightly fewer miles to the gallon Conger says the cost evens out. He also said the state is appropriating funds to help add more ethanol stations.

July 21st Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer & Ethyl II in conjunction with Edmark Hummer, Les Boi Race Track and The Treasure Valley Hummer Club were joined my the Harley Davidson group of Boise and all the staff of Edmark hummer for a social event that was one of the best so far this year.

Since inception Fuel Flex International has quickly become the market leader of flex fuel conversion systems because of the spirit of team work and leadership brought on by the individual members of our group and the decision to make our customers our primary concern.

Joining us this weekend for product training and just plain relaxation was Chairman Gary Ackaret and his wife Kathy, President Curtis Lacy and his wife Trudi, Exclusive dealers for the state of Colorado, David and Michelle Virtue.

David and Michelle have just obtained the title of Certified Installer/Retailers for their territory and have quickly established themselves as true leader in the field of Ethanol conversion systems.

They have also received the title of top sales leaders for the month of June and maybe even July.

This was truly a great time and many of the guest and onlookers enjoyed the fact that they had the option to convert their vehicles to run on clean burning Ethanol and support the American way of life.

July 4th Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer & Ethyl II  represented the Ethanol industry of Idaho in the 4th of July Parade in Cascade Idaho. Thousands of on looker and dignitaries came from far and near to participate in this great occasion.

We gave out candy throughout the duration of the 8 mile parade and once again were greeted and acknowledged by local TV and radio personalities.

The function hosted by the local Chamber of commerce was also given a Fly over by two A-10 Thunderbolt II from the Mountain Home Air Force base and the theme of the parade this year was. "America". and the Theme of Fuel Flex International is " Ethanol, Americas Fuel.

The evening was completed by a wonderful Fireworks display synchronized to patriotic music provided by the Cascade Chamber of Commerce.

June 15th Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer & Ethyl II  representing the Treasure Valley Hummer Club and participating in the Meridian Dairy Days celebration honoring our great community and in general the farming and livestock organizations of Idaho. It's the purpose to support the development of youth through 4-H and FFA, but it was quite evident with the turn out and support of the community that this is a very big day for most all involved. Our tow vehicle for this great event is the "Idaho Heat" Ethanol powered 9sec 1/4 mile race car owned and operated by Ron Curtly. It is our honor to help sponsor this great Ethanol icon.

It was a great to be involved and show our support for the Farming and agricultural community that is responsible for moving forward with Ethanol production in Idaho through corn and grain and live stock production..

Our theme for the parade was simple. "Ethanol, Americas Fuel"
Responsibly enjoying Americas great out doors using renewable fuels and causing less pollution.

June 12th Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer & Ethyl II make a trip to the St Anthony Idaho  sand dunes to put the vehicles to the test once again. Both vehicles worked flawlessly powered by a 80% mix of Ethanol. Our tests find the the low end torque and power are greatly increased between 5 and 10 percent and also we are reducing the emissions by as much as 70%.

All and all the tests went great and we find the new 2007 Hummer H3 from Edmark Hummer in Nampa Idaho with the 5 cylinder motor not only gets our thumbs up on mileage but ample power for a romp on one of Idaho's scenic playgrounds.  Video Here

June 12th Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer & Ethyl II Fuels, From Farm Fields to Fuel Tanks" 17th Annual EPAC Ethanol Conference
June 10 – 12, 2007 at
Big Sky, Montana.

Conference activities included speaker sessions all day Monday and on Tuesday morning, a Trade Show exhibit, and an Opening Reception on Sunday evening.

Those of us who arrived early were able to take part in the Sunday pre-conference activities.  EPAC offered  guests the opportunity to go horseback riding in Gallatin Canyon, or on rafting/float trips on the Gallatin River.  Beautiful scenery will abound.  Other activities that are available in the Big Sky area include fishing, hiking, biking and golf.

A great verity of speakers were there contribution to everyone's knowledge on the Ethanol market. We learned that there is also a great market for grain based ethanol.

Some of the exciting speakers are as follows: E85 Infrastructure and Flexible Fueled Vehicles"
Greg Krissik, Director of Governmental Affairs for ICM and Chair for National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition, Mary Beth Stanek, Director for Environment and Energy, General Motors and Representatives from Epic..

All in all all that attended came away with not only great business opportunities but knowing that the Ethanol industry will continue to grow and help us break away from our dependency on foreign oil.

June 8th Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer welcomes Ethyl II officially into our fleet. As you can see our new H3 Hummer from Edmark Hummer in Nampa, Idaho now definitely packs our message. Look for both of our Corporate vehicles to be visiting your city in the near future and if you would like to bring us to your Earth Day Celebration our any get together that represents the "Green" way of life please call us at 866-568-3617.

Fuel Flex International is on the road again headed to the EPAC Ethanol Summit in Big Sky Montana  on Sunday June 10th. Stop in and visit our booth on Monday and Tuesday and pick up a "Kick the Oil Habit Sticker!".

June 8th Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer  stopped in at the Eagle Fun Days celebration in Eagle Idaho to visit with the Army National Guard. It is always a great honor to visit with one of the groups that so valiantly protect our great country and our freedoms.  As our tag line says "Kick The Oil Habit, use American Made Fuel". It was great to visit with this group of individuals and there was not one of the soldiers there that did not agree with our tag line and not one that would not agree that the high prices of fuel in America has touched each and everyone of us in some way. They said in general that we need to take control of our destiny and help reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Fuel Flex International is proud to be part of this in Idaho, in the US and in the world!

June 4th Fuel Flex International, LLC  with Ethyl the Ethanol powered hummer and Ethyl2
Represented the Treasure Valley Clean Cities Coalition at the John Mayer concert at the Idaho Center
in Nampa Idaho. John Played to a packed house of fans and even those that might have came as "Just Curious" were soon converted  to his great style of music. There were many there that support him not only for his great style of singing and playing the guitar but because he is an avid promoter of the "Green" way of life, whether that be, building or biofuels, wind power or solar energy.

We spent much time with the guests explaining the reasons we do what we do with Fuel Flex International and how it affects people on a daily basis, whether it was the differences in Ethanol vs Gasoline, diesel vs bio diesel and just the fact that in many areas of the US that biofuels are cheaper than gasoline and diesel and they should be thinking about American made befouls instead of imports.

There are not many musicians that can honesty boast the ability to write, sing, and play like John Mayer. They only come along once in a while. That's why it's no surprise that his short career has been defined by legions of fans, several awards and truckloads of album sales. He gives hope to the millions of fans who claim that creativity and raw musical talent were being ushered out of the spotlight by synthetic and contrived pop music.

Upon arrival we were met by John the Sales manager and shown to a conference room to a group of people we thought would be fairly small, much to our surprise we were making a presentation the the whole Edmark sales staff. The topic of conversation was rather diverse as you can imaging, but went form the use of ethanol, the chemical make up and expected mileage changes, the performance benefits of ethanol, the environmental benefits, and the conversion of used non flex fuel vehicles and what a great sales tool that would be now that the areas 2nd Ethanol station is less that a mile from their store.

We would like to thank Edmark for the great time and professional manner in which your sales team met with us and we look forward to serving you in the near future.

May 3rd Fuel Flex International, LLC  Ethyl the Ethanol Powered Hummer H2 made a visit to Adrian Oregon to visit the K12 school there. Upon arrival we were met by Shayne Kimball a very impressive science teacher and volunteer fireman for the town. I recently had a chance to meet him at a Treasure Valley Clean cities meeting and was very impressed on what he had to say about his thoughts on the environment and renewable fuels. He told me that his class discusses this on a regular basis and he ask if I would bring Ethyl to their school and discuss the impact of Ethanol and it's availability in Idaho and in general in the USA. Those of you that know us, know we are passionate about this subject and so away we went.

Accompanying me on this trip was  Jim Allen our AV production specialist.

This turned out to be a great time and I was amazed at the level of questions and answers from the children and adults at this school. They are definitely the leaders of the future. We handed out stickers and information about what we do, and how each and everyone of them can start now on improving the issues with the environment and dependencies on foreign oil.

Thank you Adrian School district it was our pleasure to share Ethyl with you and "We will be back".

May 2nd  Fuel Flex International, LLC  was a contributor at the first annual Green Builder symposium held at the US bank building in downtown Boise Idaho. For 3 days, Expo Idaho exploded into life with non-stop adrenaline-packed action and tantalizing events for everyone and as usual Ethyl The Fuel Flex International Ethanol Powered Hummer H2 was one of the main attractions with many people asking the magic question." Can my Truck, Boat, Motor Home, Sand rail or ATV run on Ethanol too?" We were quick to give them the answer, Not only will your vehicle run great on ethanol, but it will allow you to do the things you like to do outside but support a cleaner environment and America. Thank you to all those that visited with us and we look forward to helping you convert to the GREEN SIDE.

Requirements Established for Ethanol-blended Fuel Pumps

Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a safety testing and certification organization, announced the establishment of safety requirements for E85 fuel dispensing equipment. UL is accepting submittals for certification investigations.

The safety requirements, announced on Oct. 16, follow the completion of UL's comprehensive research program to investigate potential safety concerns associated with dispensing highly concentrated ethanol-blended fuels. The research included extensive gathering of technical data, field studies of existing E85 installations in the United States and Brazil and analysis of material compatibility for dispenser components. UL's investigation also involved a co-sponsored technical forum with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that brought together 32 national experts from automobile and petroleum companies, ethanol producers, dispenser and component manufacturers, industry associations, government agencies and university researchers.

"UL's research into the safety aspects of the equipment used to dispense high percentage ethanol-blended fuels was a significant undertaking that required the participation of government agencies such as Department of Energy and EPA, as well as technical experts in biofuels and material compatibility from around the world," said Gus Schaefer, UL's public safety officer. "We took the need for E85 dispenser requirements very seriously due to the unique characteristics of ethanol-blended fuels and believe the potential issues we identified through our thorough process will help promote the efficient, effective delivery of E85 as safely as possible."

UL's research indicated that although certain materials found in commercially available dispensers can be expected to perform acceptably when exposed to motor vehicle fuels blended with high concentrations of ethanol, some materials experienced significant deterioration during research tests. The new safety requirements address these material compatibility findings, UL officials said.

Working with the DOE, UL's scientific research program was designed to advance public knowledge about the long-term effects of highly concentrated ethanol on the components of E85 dispensers and the subsequent effects on fire safety. One element of the research program included a long-term conditioning test, the results of which were used to assist UL in determining the necessary protocols for evaluating potential degradation of dispenser materials from exposure to E85.

"The Department of Energy has been pleased to facilitate an efficient, focused, diligent and collaborative effort with Underwriters Laboratories, EPA and stakeholders," said Andy Karsner, DOE's assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy. "UL's quick completion of test requirements will help expand the use of clean and abundant homegrown fuels."

As part of ongoing research, UL is working with DOE, EPA, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory to conduct additional long-term, dynamic testing of materials to be used in E85 dispensers.

The new interest of Lotus, developing biofuel technologies has led to a revolutionary discovery. Richard Pearson, a technical specialist at Lotus Engineering and a champion of greener engines, shares that tests conducted at the company have found that high-performance engines that run on ethanol produce more power than their petrol counterparts.

Pearson shares:  We have found that you can get more performance from a

high-performance engine if you use ethanol because of its octane number, which is better than petrol’s. It’s particularly marked in cars that have super-charged and turbo-charged engines. We have found efficiency increases which, while not enormous, are still the sort of increases that people are spending billions of dollars trying to achieve in the automotive sector Ethanol has the power to meet Kyoto targets.

This discovery could revolutionize the car industry. Not only that, Lotus engineers believes that such ethanol powered car could be used in formula one races very soon.

A car that is powered by green fuel could soon win a formula one race, according to engine designers at the car company Lotus.

Richard Pearson, a technical specialist at Lotus Engineering and a champion of greener engines, says tests being conducted at the company have found that high-performance engines run on ethanol - which is mostly made from sugar cane and maize - can produce more power than their petrol counterparts.

"We are developing a demonstrator vehicle based on a super-charged Lotus Exige that is more powerful and more efficient than a petrol version," Pearson says. "We have found that you can get more performance from a high-performance engine if you use ethanol because of its octane number, which is better than petrol's. It's particularly marked in cars that have super- charged and turbo-charged engines."

The company's research, says Pearson, could revolutionize the car industry. "We have found efficiency increases which, while not enormous, are still the sort of increases that people are spending billions of dollars trying to achieve in the automotive sector," he says.

Full Flex International, LLC: Products that have completely revolutionize the flex fuel conversion process.

Fuel Flex International. LLC is proud to report that we were the first company in 2007 to achieve OBD compliance for a  Ethanol conversion kit in the United States. The process that brought FFI into leading the industry and becoming compliant with the E.P.A. requirements, was a great learning process.  Our teams of engineers here in America as well as in Brazil worked diligently with a primary goal to meet the requirements set in place by the Environmental Protection Agency to make sure we were helping and not hurting the environment. The process was completed at the EPA testing facility at Colorado State University with a primary goal to conform to the strict  precedent placed by the Federal standard.

Note: Fuel Flex Gold  is  also one of the only conversion kit to have certification in Brazil where Ethanol is the primary fuel that powers over 80% of all the vehicles on the road.

Today ethanol can be and is being used as an alternative to fossil fuels. Ethanol is considered a renewable fuel as it can be made from renewable sources such a sugar cane, corn and many other products. It's really great for any country trying to reduces their dependency from importing foreign oil.
